Just like painting, a high quality, furniture-grade wood finish depends largely on the prep work. It all starts with detailed sanding, which opens the wood pores and allows it to accept stain evenly. The clear coat varnishes we use impart a soft sheen radiance—as opposed to a “plastic” look/feel—which allows the true beauty of the wood grain to shine through, while providing a durable UV-protectant coating that holds up over time. The right topcoat, properly applied, will protect your wood from abrasion, marring, and other damage caused by the sun, water, or alcohol. In appearance, the finish is warm and natural; to the touch it’s smooth and silky. In order to achieve this, you must caress the wood…you must love the wood!
